Citrus reticulata – Mandarin

Description:

The Mandarin tree comes from the tropical areas of Asia and its culture was introduced in Spain in the XIX century. Its fruit is formed by a considerable number of segments full of juice that contain a lot of vitamin C, flavonoids and essential oils. It is believed that the name of mandarin is due to the color of the suits used by the mandarins. At present the main producing region in Spain, are Comunidad Valenciana that produces approximately 85%, Andalucia 10% and Cataluña 5%.
